V1CE Card Design Specs: Everything You Need to Know

Creating a custom V1CE card? Let’s make sure your design looks sharp, prints beautifully, and represents your brand perfectly. Here’s everything you need to know before submitting your file.

1️⃣ Accepted File Types: What Formats Can You Use?

To ensure the highest print quality, we accept the following file formats:

PVC & Bamboo Cards: JPEG, PNG, PDF, AI (Adobe Illustrator), PSD (Photoshop), EPS
Metal Cards: High-quality JPEG, PNG, PDF, AI, PSD, EPS

If your design contains logos, intricate graphics, or detailed fonts, we recommend submitting AI, EPS, or PSD files for the clearest print.

2️⃣ Resolution Matters: Avoid Blurry Prints

If your resolution is too low, your design might look blurry or pixelated—and nobody wants that.

Best Resolution: Between 250dpi and 600dpi
Files below 250dpi? Expect blurry, low-quality prints—so make sure your image is high resolution before submitting.

Pro Tip: The higher the resolution, the sharper the final print.

3️⃣ Color Formats: CMYK vs. RGB

Your design must be in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) for accurate color printing.

Why CMYK? This is the standard printing color mode, ensuring colors appear as intended on the final card.
Why RGB Might Look Different? If you designed your card in RGB (the color mode used on screens), colors might appear slightly different when printed.

4️⃣ Important Design Details: Fonts, Sizes & Paths

To guarantee your design prints flawlessly, follow these specs:

Convert all fonts to curves/paths or embed them in the PDF
Minimum font size: 6 pt (anything smaller may be unreadable)
Vector paths must be at least 0.25 pt thick
Card size: 86mm x 54mm (standard business card size)
Logo size recommendations: 6x4 cm, 5x3 cm, or 4x2 cm
QR Code size: 2.1 cm x 2.1 cm

5️⃣ Full Bleed & Edge-to-Edge Printing

Want your design to go right to the edges of the card? You’ll need to submit a slightly larger file to ensure a perfect fit.

Add +10mm to your design for full-bleed printing
Recommended for: Sapele Bamboo & White PVC cards

If you’re going for a seamless, edge-to-edge look, this step is a must!

6️⃣ Back Design Rules: Can You Print on the Back?

Back designs (with or without QR codes) are allowed if:

You’ve ordered 5+ cards
You’ve ordered back designs before
You’re a VIP or big-brand customer

If you’re unsure whether your order qualifies for back printing, just reach out to us!

Final Thoughts: Make Your Design Print-Ready!

Use high-quality files (AI, PSD, EPS recommended)
Ensure a resolution of at least 250dpi
Submit designs in CMYK for color accuracy
Follow size & font guidelines for the best results
Allow extra space for full-bleed printing
