We have turned on Password Protection for all V1CE cards as an extra layer of security on your cards. This will give them further protection.
You may have seen when you open your V1CE link, a password page is present, which looks like the one below.
Every link has a password attached to it to make the platform more secure by default; the password is automatically turned on.
Here is an example of how the password function works
link.v1ce.co.uk/aadkyr/586111 <- The last part of the Url is the password for the link
link.v1ce.co.uk/aadkyr <- Here is the link without the password, and it will open the password page
link.v1ce.co.uk/v1cetest <- Here is a custom URL without the access code, which will stop access
link.v1ce.co.uk/v1cetest/586111 <- Here is a custom URL with the password
When you get your card, the card is pre-encoded with the password fixed to the link. Whether you have password protection on or off, when your card is tapped or scanned, it will always display your information.
If you do not want this feature to be enabled, then you can turn this function off and below are the steps to do so.
1. Log in to the V1CE App
2. Click on the card you want to change
3. Click the settings button
4. Go to the section labelled Password Protection and click the off button
5. You will see the password has now been removed, and click save to confirm the change
6. You will now be able to access the card using links without the password attached.
